PPL thanks

Say thanks to the parties protecting new parents' time at home

This election Fair Agenda secured pledges from the Nick Xenophon Team, Jacqui Lambie Network, Greens and ALP to vote against any cuts to paid parental leave.

Together, these parties hold the majority of seats in the new Senate, which means their votes will stop the Government from cutting the parental leave of tens of thousands of new parents.

It's a great commitment from these four parties, which will make a huge difference to tens of thousands of working parents, and their newborns.

With so much at stake, it's vital we not only thank these Senators for pledging to protect new parents' time at home -- but also show them we're still ready to mobilise and hold them accountable for their promise.

Can you help by sharing a thank you message for the Senators pledged, sharing why protecting parental leave matters to you?

Being able to afford to spend time at home caring for your new baby is precious.

Thank you for your pledge to vote against any cuts to paid parental leave.

"Thanks for standing with mothers on this important issue! I’m a grandmother, and I was fortunate in that I didn’t have to go back to work when my babies were little. However, its a different ballgame for my daughters and daughters-in-law, and I stand with them in seeking the best of quality time for them and their babies. Please stand by your word to vote against any changes to this legislation. The Government can find these saving by abolishing the subsidies that give to polluting energy companies, or by taxing multinational tax- avoiders."
