PPL thanks

Say thanks to the parties protecting new parents' time at home

This election Fair Agenda secured pledges from the Nick Xenophon Team, Jacqui Lambie Network, Greens and ALP to vote against any cuts to paid parental leave.

Together, these parties hold the majority of seats in the new Senate, which means their votes will stop the Government from cutting the parental leave of tens of thousands of new parents.

It's a great commitment from these four parties, which will make a huge difference to tens of thousands of working parents, and their newborns.

With so much at stake, it's vital we not only thank these Senators for pledging to protect new parents' time at home -- but also show them we're still ready to mobilise and hold them accountable for their promise.

Can you help by sharing a thank you message for the Senators pledged, sharing why protecting parental leave matters to you?

Being able to afford to spend time at home caring for your new baby is precious.

Thank you for your pledge to vote against any cuts to paid parental leave.

Fair Agenda will email petition signers from time to time with important updates

"I remember some 30 years ago, when governments were introducing creche facilities at work for working parents and that seems to have been lost. Paid parental leave is essential to help families afford to produce the next generation of Australians."

"It’s not a luxury I enjoyed, unfortunately, but would have made a dramatic difference to our lives and alleviated the financial struggle. I’ve watched talented colleagues have to give up their jobs completely, stifling career opportunities, because 6 weeks unpaid leave was not nearly enough to nurture an infant. This must change, for women to have equity in the workforce and stable maternal relationships with their babies."
