Sign the card: Thanks for committing half a billion to tackle family violence

Last month the Victorian Government have announced an incredible $572 million of funding to address family violence in the state.

This investment is an historic act of leadership from Premier Daniel Andrews and his Government, and an important big step towards implementing the full recommendations of the recent Royal Commission.

It's all too rare that we see this kind of leadership, and on such an important issue. That's why it's critical we show this investment is supported by voters -- especially in an election year.

Can you sign your thanks to Premier Andrews and his government for their leadership on this issue? Fair Agenda members will deliver your messages of thanks to Parliament on Wednesday 8th June.

"I wish to thank the Victorian Labor Government for making such a wide-ranging commitment to changing the culture of family violence in our great state. I am 76 and have been a keen observer of politics for most of my life and this is the most profound act of political responsibility I have ever seen. Thank you again for myself and other sufferers."

"I was a victim of domestic violence in the late 60s early 70s. After leaving my architect husband in Toorak I worked for a number of years to bring the matter of domestic violence to public attention; to get the state government to provide refuges and emergency housing; to have police retrained to better attend these situations; to educate women about taking action in courts and so on. It has been very slow progress until Rosie Batty. And now Daniel Andrews. Congratulations Victoria. But there is a lot of work still to be done."

"At last the Government is taking this important issue seriously. I still feel that all women who are still in danger carry a SafeTcard."
