All male line up?

Win! What a joke!

CAMPAIGN UPDATE: In 2014 when Just for Laughs made headlines for their all male pre-sale line-up, Fair Agenda members called on festival organisers to address their gender problem, and worked together to make sure this issue dominated the festival's social media in the first weeks of promotions. When the festival announced their full line up months later, there were 8 women in the show; and one woman included in every single group event at the Festival. Thanks to everyone who was involved in the campaign!

What’s wrong with this picture? Despite the myriad of talented female comedians available, Just for Laughs Sydney have just announced the pre-sale lineup for their upcoming festival - and there’s not a woman in sight.

Amazing funny lady Maeve Marsden has just called it out, and pointed to the exceptional pool of talented, award-winning female comedians that could have appeared in this kind of line-up. She’s calling for better. And we are too.

Just for Laughs are still finalising their full line-up - which means they still have time to address the problem. Can you help show them how many Australians want to see more women featured in their upcoming Sydney festival?

Dear Just For Laughs,

Australia has a large pool of talented, award-winning female comedians. We’d like to see them better represented and featured in your Sydney festival.

"“Why did the Festival Fail?”…… I love a good laugh, but an all male line up is no funny joke to 51% of Australia, the female population. Get with the times and help us all laugh with you and not at you."
