Tell the govt: fully fund women’s safety

Men’s use of gender-based violence is a crisis across the country. Yet governments are choosing not to properly resource life-saving family, domestic and sexual violence services.

Domestic and family violence services, sexual violence services, women's legal services - all play a vital role in supporting women's safety and wellbeing.

But right now government priorities and funding decisions mean that services aren't resourced to assist everyone that needs them. Every day violence services aren't fully funded is another day women are left in danger.

Enough is enough. We’re calling on governments to invest in a future where women can live, work and learn free from violence. A budget that ensures that a woman or girl who has been raped doesn’t wait months for trauma counselling support. A budget that ensures services have the capacity to respond to a man at risk of using violence. And importantly a budget that ensures any person subject to violence is supported to be safe and escape their abuser.

Join us by calling on the federal government to make women’s safety should be a non-negotiable at the heart of their budgets.

More information

There are gaping holes in the safety net that should be in place for women affected by sexual, domestic and family violence. Funding is urgently needed across every part of the system.

Join the campaign to show the Albanese Government we want women’s safety to be at the core of their budgets; and we want these services fully funded.

To Federal, State and Territory Governments,

We call on you to ensure proper funding of specialist sexual, domestic and family violence services - to ensure everyone affected can access the support they need, and that perpetrators’ abusive behaviours are addressed.

"I am the victim of a man who sexually assaulted me within my relationship with him, twice. When the relationship finally ended, and I lost both of my jobs I found it diffult to find support to continue paying for my house. I relied on the support of friends and family, and my bank. I also had support from several government funded organisations who helped me unpack the trauma of that relationship. I am eternally grateful, and support more funding for more services for women in my position orbworse. Tax cuts arenjot needed! Funding for aupprrt services is."

"Please stop bleeding tax funds from those on the low end to stoke the coffers of the rich. They do not need it!! Use tax dollars for programs that benefit everyone in the community. I don’t understand why this needs to be said as it is so obvious."

"With the way the world economy is going now we need to lower tax rates for the poorest of workers, not those on over $140,000 or whatever the cut off is. Too many wealthy people and organisations do not pay any tax as they find ways to avoid it. We are in crisis! So many people need help to get a roof over their heads before winter and have enough money for food and power."
