Too many people across Australia face huge barriers to abortion care. Some can’t find a doctor who provides it. Others are forced to travel long distances or pay hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars out of pocket for this essential healthcare.
Change is possible. Governments have the power to fix this by ensuring abortion care is available in public hospitals and reducing the cost of abortion care so income is never a barrier.
At the same time, access to abortion care remains under attack from religious extremists pushing to roll back hard-won rights. We cannot allow extremist politicians to undermine safe, legal healthcare.
