SA: Block new attempt to restrict abortion access

When we need healthcare, we should be able to rely on a system that supports us to make an informed decision, and access to a team who can provide the best care for our circumstances.

But politician Sarah Game has just announced a plan to change South Australia’s laws to limit the care that health professionals can provide.

She wants to override current laws - and interfere with the ability of doctors to provide their patient with the best care.

A woman can need to access abortion care after 23 weeks for a range of complex, distressing and deeply personal reasons. She may have received a catastrophic diagnosis for her own health, for the pregnancy, or an abuser may be trying to use pregnancy to trap her in the relationship, and have been obstructing her ability to access care. She and her medical team should be able to discuss the best care options in her unique circumstances. This proposal would mean politicians get the ultimate say - and limit the care a woman’s medical team can legally provide.

Abortion is healthcare – add your name to the petition to get involved in the campaign; and keep medical decisions with patients and their medical teams.

To all members of South Australian parliament,

We urge you to vote to protect current abortion laws.
