The Handmaid's Tale: organise a fundraising screening

The new adaptation of the best-selling novel 'The Handmaid’s Tale' is powering pro-choice campaigns across the United States right now.

There has been much talk about how the series (set in a future, dystopian America, where women are forced to bear children against their will) is hauntingly relevant, including in Australia.

Right now, abortion is still considered a crime in both Queensland and NSW. And anti-choice forces are working hard to keep it that way. But in coming months there will be important fights for change in both states. We need your help to make sure the noisy anti-choice minority don’t hijack the debate.

That’s why Fair Agenda is asking you to host a screening of The Handmaid’s Tale at your house to raise funds for our pro-choice fighting fund.

How can I help?

The Handmaid’s Tale will be released on SBS On Demand on Thursday 6th July.

You can help by organising a time to watch the first episodes, inviting your friends around to watch with you, and asking those who come along to make a donation to Fair Agenda's pro-choice fighting fund.

We’ll provide you with a short host pack – including information about the state of reproductive rights in Australia, key battles on the horizon, and what Fair Agenda is fundraising for.

Can you help? Sign up below to register a screening and then invite your friends!
